Honor first to women! Marie Curie was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize twice for her researches, notably with her husband, Pierre Curie, in the fields of physics and chemistry. Also Nobel Prize awarded, Françoise Barré-Sinoussi and Luc Montagnier were the first to identify the retrovirus responsible for AIDS.
Of course, let’s not forget the essential role played by Pasteur, the pioneer of vaccination. As for the Lumière brothers, these genius inventors played a key role in the history of photography and cinema. Their names are part of the long list of personalities that allowed France to be a pioneer in many technological fields, from high-speed rail to aeronautics and aerospace, counting European companies such as Airbus or Ariane, through agriculture technologies, transport, renewable energies, or artificial intelligence. In Paris, the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie and the Géode retrace these collective and individual adventures, which notably gave birth to the ecosystem now known as "French Tech".
